Is the value of human life in Lebanon less than that of the citizens of other countries?

"Is the value of human life in Lebanon less than that of the citizens of other countries?" Lebanese Prime Minister Siniora asked. "Can the international community stand by while such callous retribution by Israel is inflicted on us?"
Answer: yes.

It does sometimes make me wonder when Hezbulla is demanding the release of thousands of prisoners in return for two soldiers, if they really place such a low price tag on their men.

Obviously, they think very little of the life of Lebanese civilians. After all, they made it a point of using civilians as human shields by placing their headquarters, as well as ammunition depots in the heart of Shi'ite villages and neightborhoods, and now launching rockets from populated villages.

If I was in Lebanon right now, I would be wondering why none seems to care what's happening to us. Then, like every other mammy in the world, including Israeli mammies, I would be wondering what I have to do to defend my community. Maybe I would protest about the war or maybe I would join in. It's hard to know what you'd do if your back is against the wall and at best, noone seems to care or at worst, they excuse the massacre of innocent people.

My Dear Nikkel,

I am Lebanese and I’m really pissed now. If you were in front of me I’ll be shooting with an AK right up your ass.

Obviously you do not understand the meaning of RESISTANCE. I’m not surprised, you among many have been brainwashed by the controlled world media. You completely miss on who’s the brutal terrorist in this never-ending conflict. You do not want to understand, unfortunately. You and others in this sad world watch complacently and completely confuse the victim from the aggressor. Those F16 planes I hear them roaring above my head as I run from one public school to the other trying to support, among others like me, the 200,000 refugees that have fled their villages and lost their homes, and above all lost members of their families in the brutal carnage that the Israeli war machine has inflicted on my country and its people, more than 300 dead in just 12 days! With you and others cynically watching and violently (your words) condemning Hezbollah, I’m afraid there will be more of my people dead. You the so-called protectors of “civilization” are legitimizing the STATE OF TERROR, which owns the most sophisticated lethal weapons, mostly internationally banned, to freely use and abuse of its death machine over our heads. Did you know that some who escaped death from a nearby bomb are suffering from chemical burns on their skin?

We don’t have shelters like the Israelis do. Our homes are not built on stolen land, we do not sleep with the anguish of a possible attack by the people we have been oppressing for such a long time. No, we don’t build shelters like the Israelis do before they even build their homes, because we do not live like the Israelis in paranoia and fear of the oppressed people’s rage against us. No we don’t have shelters because we don’t build our homes on the remains of people and we don’t build sophisticated complexes that hide their misery and eliminate a whole people’s history.
We have humble homes on a beautiful land that we cherish so much and take pride in its history. Once you start understanding what this means you might understand Nikkel, that is if you want to, what resistance means. You will be able to differentiate between the aggressor and the victim, you might be able to understand that not all those who fight in the name of God and Islam are “fanatic terrorists” as the media would like us all to stupidly believe. You might be able to understand why a secular woman like me who fights for her rights and against all sorts of oppressions, would today stand by Hezbollah. And only pray for their God to keep the resilience and strength of the men who are fighting at the front protecting us from yet another Israeli invasion.

How dare you, after all the brutal injustice that has been inflicted on us, for decades, ask us to deny our right to resist?
If I were Israeli, I would surely worry of the rage and revolt of the Lebanese people who would have survived this war. I’m not sure if I prefer to die or survive and live with all this anger and rage inside of me, I might become someone other than myself, and that scares me as equally as death.

Dear IsrealiMom: requesting the release of thousands of lebanese in exchange for 2 soldiers is not putting a price tag on people. It is showing how well-off Israel is in doing evil. (Hezbulla is cheap in that respect). And with regards to Hezbulla thinking very little about the lebanese civilians, you are wrong. I suggest you watch CNN's "Inside Hezbullah", where CNN says it is by people, for people and within people. Hezbulla cannot build hospitals if its headquarters are somewhere outside the city. They don't use civilians as human shields, they are formed by the ordinary civilians, defending their own prosperity.

I am not Lebanese. I watch CNN, but I am not stupid. If there was no resistance force in Lebanon or Palestine, Israel would have occupied all the territories around it by means of force.

this is a reply to the author of the piece in response to nikkel.thank you very much for making me feel so good at a time like this.thank you for letting me know that their are still people of your caliber in the world .people who are honest and brave to say the truth.people who have dignity and perseverence to fight for what is right.resistance as you've said can never be understood by people like nikkel who lack the depth of such a meaningful word.they can never understand why people would fight for their land and refuse to be intimated by the strongest powers of the world.they refuse to acknowledge that isreal is the aggressor because they fear that the so called "civilized" world might condemn them and that might threaten their existence.they are so spineless that they are afraid to try to understand people like hizbollah because then they might find out that they were wrong.i dare them to read about the history of this region beginning with the treaty of sayks-picou.i am sure they have no idea about how groups like hizbollah and hammas come to be.let me give them a clue.they are the result of the civilized's world democracy;the result of years of oppression and injustice.they are the people whose lands have been stolen and raped.people who claim that hizbollah is using civilians as human sheilds are only trying to cover up for the criminal wars of isreal in this part of lebanon.they are also trying to save face because they were not able to target hizbollah soldiers and targetted civilians instead claiming that these soldiers are stationed there.what a laughing stock they were made.hizbollah out smarted the strongest military power in this side of the world.none of these soldiers were targetted among the civilians cause they weren't there but waiting to kick their ass in maroon al ras and bint jbeil and we all know who claimed victory there.fear us isreal .our rage has just started to engulf you.be prepared for a new vitenam.i am a woman from lebanon and i have always backed up and will always back up hizbollah because they make me stand with my head high.
